TELEMEDICINE VISITS

Our patients’ health and safety are of the utmost importance to us. During the COVID-19 global pandemic, we understand that social distancing and staying in place whenever possible is absolutely necessary. However, we also know that health issues don’t stop during extreme times such as these. For that reason, we have instituted Telemedicine Visits to assist our patients whenever possible through the safety and convenience of technology. If you currently have a computer with an internet connection or a phone with app and/or video capabilities, it’s possible that a televisit could be right for you.

Your Mobile Phone

With the COVID-19 pandemic causing restrictions and social distancing orders, the government has temporarily relaxed HIPPA guidelines pertaining to telemedicine visits. It is understood that not everyone has access to a computer or wifi, and that those people should not be exempt from medical care for those reasons. Until further notice, Telemedicine Visits can be conducted through the use of the patient and physician’s mobile phone video and call capabilities. In addition, apps such as Facetime, Skype and Duo may also be used until we have been instructed to cease their utilization. Each mobile carrier has different procedures for making video calls, but our office is willing to assist as necessary to make sure that all appropriate Telemedicine Visit patients have access to the office and physician.
